Quick Tip to Easily Make LinkedIn a Regular Part of Your Networking Process

This week, I picked-up a great tip from #1 best-selling author Brian Hilliard, who spoke in Richmond, VA as a part of International Networking Week. Do a quick “Advanced Search” of your LinkedIn connections for someone who you are connected to, but haven’t met in-person yet … Send them an email requesting a meeting to sit down over a cup of coffee (coffee, not lunch, because coffee is much easier commitment) to see how you might be able to help each other … In your email, provide a link to a YouTube video that you created (less than 3 mins) with a quick intro to yourself (not a sales pitch, an intro) and ideally some value you can give them (eg. 3 quick tips to grow your business by referral). It takes a bit of work (like building any relationship does) and it is incredibly effective.
